No or Low Water Pressure At Home?
When it comes to low water pressure in Toronto, there are different ways we can go about solving the issues. Our services include:
- Fixing any blockages or leaks in your existing waterline
- Replacing your main water shut-off
- Upgrading your main waterline’s size
- Improving the capacity of the waterline beyond the water meter and then rerouting the water line
What Causes Low Water Pressure?
There are many reasons why you may be experiencing low water pressure in your house, such as:
If there are leaks in your pipes, your water flow will decrease.
Minerals in the water can often build up in the pipes over the years and food or hair can get stuck, clogging the pipes and creating large blockages.
Your pressure regulator or pressure reducing valve may not be set properly, needed to be re-adjusted or even replaced.
When two or more taps are being used at the same time, water pressure will usually lower. This can easily be fixed, though by only using one tap at a time if possible.
Your main water valve may be partially or completely closed, meaning that water cannot get to your house.

How to Measure Your Waterline Diameter?
In order to ensure good water pressure in Toronto, waterlines should have a diameter of at least 1 inch. The size of your waterline should be located on a label on the side of the valve, but if you don’t see a label, you can measure it using the string method.
This is done by wrapping a string around the pipe, marking where the ends meet, measuring the marked distance, and then dividing that measurement by pi to find the diameter.
Do You Need a Waterline Upgrade?
If the diameter of your waterline is too small, you’ll need an upgrade to make it bigger and allow more water to get through to your home.
If water pressure is low in your house for another reason, then most likely you won’t need an upgrade as the problem can be solved another way.
