Who can apply
- The home is a single, semi, or townhouse in Mississauga, Brampton, or Caledon, including Bolton.
- The valve was installed after July 16, 2024.
- The applicant is a person, not a corporation.
- A licensed contractor has confirmed a sanitary backwater valve is appropriate.
- The valve is on the sanitary pipe that serves only one dwelling.
- The local city or town issued a building permit, and the inspection passed.
- This home has not received the rebate in the last 10 years.

We confirm it is the sanitary line
Peel pays only for a valve on the sanitary lateral. We check that before any work is booked.

The city or town permit comes first
Mississauga, Brampton, or Caledon has to issue the plumbing permit. We leave the valve uncovered until that inspection passes.

Then you apply to Peel
The rebate form goes in only after the inspection passes, with the paid invoice. Peel says it reviews a complete application in 5 business days and mails a cheque in 4 to 6 weeks.
